2010 Ducks Unlimited "Pigs In Flight" BBQ Competition & Festival 3/25-27/2010 Memphis, TN
Ducks Unlimited partnered with the Memphis Barbecue Network (MBN) to bring the first annual “Pigs In Flight" Barbecue Competition and Festival to Memphis. Some of the best cooks and sportsmen in the southeast display at Ducks Unlimited National Headquarters for this unique event! Waterfowling and barbecue have long been southern traditions. For the first time in the Memphis area, the two come together for three days of competition cooking and festivities. The Grand Champion of this event earns their way to the annual MBN Championships.
Two divisions of competition include the MBN Division and the Patio Porker Division. "Anything But" contests are held in six categories: beef, poultry, seafood, chicken wings, sauce and duck.
The festival includes contests, silent auctions and DU merchandise! Weekend unique walk around contests are held and highlighted by a variety of items, including special edition Ducks Unlimited firearms, cutlery, decoys, artwork and more. Weekend games include High/Low, Ducky Dice, Poker Flats and Pluck a Duck. Prizes range from shotguns to cash and winners are pulled throughout the contest.
The contest and festival is home to an exclusive Ducks Unlimited sidewalk sale. All forms of DU merchandise are available for purchase including clothing, accessories, pet gear, kitchen ware, etc., etc., etc. Ducks Unlimited and the Memphis Barbecue Network expect this to be an annual event that will raise money and awareness for Ducks Unlimited while hosting a completely unique and fun barbecue competition.
